Local Artist Kevin Hickson
This half term, the wonders of the Earth and Space met the decorative designs of local Burmantofts pottery in our Year 5 art classes!
In a number of hands-on workshops, our Year 5 pupils have had the exciting opportunity to work with talented local artist Kevin Hickson. The pupils have been creating their own clay tiles inspired by the vastness and mystery of space as well as the pattern and textures we observed in our exploration of Burmantoft's pottery.
With Kevin's expert guidance, we have explored a range of techniques to bring our imaginative ideas to life, including texture, pattern and form. From distant planets to shooting stars, the pupil's creativity has been out of this world! We look forward to sharing the finished pieces with you in the coming weeks.
