My Street, Our Community
This half term our Reception project is My Street, Our Community. We are learning about what a community is, what community we belong to and what our local area looks like. We are also using local area maps and google maps to route our journey to and from school, and having a go at drawing our own maps.
This week we have followed a map to walk around the perimeter of our school and local community. We followed the arrows on the map and looked out for familiar buildings on the route, such as, Lincoln Green Mosque and the tower flats. We then created our own map of the local walk back in the classroom, labelling the familiar buildings.
