September in Year One and Two
In Year 1 we have been exploring exciting ways in which we can interact with the world around us using our five senses. We began by creating a life-sized, labelled drawing of a Year 1 body, using members of the class as our models. We then used our sense of touch, using both our hands and feet to investigate mystery objects and identifying what they were. After this we eagerly participated in a "sound walk" around the school grounds, identifying noises from the loudest to the quietest.
Year 2 were really excited to have some visitors into school to launch our project Our Changing World. Year 2 got to meet different animals to learn about where they lived and what they ate. The met a snake, a rabbit, a guinea pig and even a bearded dragon!
There also was also a gecko that was quite lively! The children's faces say it all! What a great morning.
